Refused to pay bribe to the clerk at the sales tax office, Mumbai

• Commercial Tax, Sales Tax, VAT
• VAT Number

I had to get my profession tax number,and my VAT/CST numbers.At first it was the VAT/VST process i had to finish.The officer alloted me the TIN numbers and later when i gave the file to the clerk he asked me baksheesh in the end for his work.I refused and flatly walked out.

Then i went to the profession tax office on 1st floor.FInished formalities and got the PT number,and was asked again.This time i clearly told them i dont pay bribes,and it is neither a habit of mine nor do i intend to do so.Took my PT certificate and walked out.

So basically got my VAT,CST and PT done same day and refused to pay a bribe.
