RTO & Dealer asking for 10K for approving Smart Card as Without Address Proof (WAP)
I'm living in Mumbai for last 5 Years and on the current address as a Rent Payer with Registered Lease Agreement and Police Verification. I also have a registered Bharat Gas Connection along with Electicity Bill of the said premises with Society Name. Have been paying the Electricity Bill regularly.
Even after having all the relevant proof's the dealer is insisting that the RTO will not consider them as proofs and have to pay additional 10K for registering a vehicle while new purchase as WAP.
I found this ridiculous as I already have 2 Wheeler registred on my name with the set of address proof's.
I feel there is a need of change in the system as they bargain on the WAP amount saying that we can do something about it and get it down from 10K to somewhere around 7-8K. Don't foresee any written rule or amount for such WAP procedure.
