This is the story about my passport verification. i have been called by CID for passport verification. After submitting my verified documents i was asked by the official of concerned department to bribe RS 200 which i refused to pay. After about 45 days my two friend have applied for passport and then they were called by same official for verification and asked for RS 200 bribe which they paid. Nearly about 15 days ago,one of my friend asked for my passport and i told him i have not yet received but at the same time he showed me his passport and asked me you will now pay more than two hundred. Then i told the same story to my cousin who is working at district passport office . when my cousin confirmed this matter at district passport office and he told me that your police verification has not yet done and gave me the verification form for submitting it at my concerned police station Quazigund Anantnag, J&K. First they have not accepted my verification form and humiliated me . then again i take the help of my cousin who then called them on phone and then they accept. After that they asked me tomorrow we will send a person for your verification to your village and i asked them i will not be available at home as i am going to university and tell me what i have to do. After 10 minutes one police man showed me the policeman who is assigned with verification. After listening my excuse that i will not be available at home. He take my personal verification at the same time and told me give me two photographes and photostate copy of my identity card and two verification forms from shopkeeper and rest he will do him self. when i gave him the same document and photographs and he told me, have you given any bribe to munshi (policeman) and i told him no and asked him why should i pay. After ten minutes he gave me back my document and told me for other formalties like state subject certificate, numberdar verification etc.This is where our police and CID stands whom we thinks are our guardians against corruption. on 21/5/2013 i have applied and still my police verification has not yet done and will not pay even a penny .
