Last month I drove from Bangalore to Mumbai, and on my way back…

Reported on November 11, 2013 from Jalgaon , Maharashtra  ι Report #37162

Last month I drove from Bangalore to Mumbai, and on my way back stayed overnight at Jalgaon so as to visit the Ajanta & Ellora caves. The next morning, after breakfast we checked out of our hotel and set out.

As soon as we reached the main road I was waived to a stop by a a trafic cop who was prowling at the corner. 1st he asked to see my DL which I gave him. Then he asked for the Registration and I gave that to him too. Next he asked for PUC certificate , but seemed satisfied with my explaination that it was a BS !V engine . Finally he asked to see the insurance. I handed over the insurance book ( still in the envelope in which it arrived by post ) and after opening it and looking at it critically he wanted to know why it was not a single sheet of paper. By now he had already wasted over 10 mins. and I lost my cool when he said this. I asked him why he was harassing me when I had all the papers for my car. He muttered something about only doing his duty and that there were a lot of stolen out of state cars moving around and then let me go.
