The typical scenario
This happened at bommanhalli signal at around 9 PM today. I mistakenly jumped a red light. The person caught before me paid Rs 50 and he was let off. The officer asked me 400 Rs for jumping red light. I paid the fine. On seeing the challan I realized that he charged me for jumping red light and dangerous driving. I was hardly making 10 kms an hour as the traffic was very slow moving.
One disappointing part of the incident was that, It was sort of some drive by traffic police wherein about 10 officers were present at the spot, some looked as if they were senior officials and they were accepting bribes without any hesitation.
