Trickster TTE!!
I was heading home for Diwali on the Mangalore-Ahmedabad holiday special train operated by the central railways. I boarded from Panvel. When the TTE came to check my ticket, he told me I needed to pay Rs. 15 extra since the fares had increased since the time I had booked the tickets. He also asked the family sitting next to me to pay Rs. 50.00. Having read something about the fare hike in railways, I did not think twice and paid up the extra fifteen rupees. So did the other passengers. However, when I asked the TTE for a receipt, he asked me why I needed a receipt. I told him I need it to claim at work. Seeing this, my fellow passengers also demanded a receipt. To my surprise, the TTE then returned my money and the other family's money and left!
Rs. 15 may seem like a small amount which is why most people will pay up as well without giving it a second thought. However, if that TTE collected Rs. 15 from each passenger in the train its not less!
