Am settled and residing now in Chennai for 20 years and my native was Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district. I applied for a passport in 1999 but I could not appear as I had my ML examinations then. And the File number was TRY BO11867/99. Now on 27.06.2017, I applied for a Passport in Chennai as am residing here, from Chennai Passport Office. I appeared, my documents were scrutinised and I understood that my earlier application file was not closed. Chennai Passport Office asked me to approach Trichy Passport Office and get the Closure letter of my pending file. What is the procedure to close it? Do I need to get appointment from Trichy Passport Office or May I come on any working day with a requisition letter to close my Pending file? Please guide me. Thank you.
