Gas agency in North Bangalore refuses to give gas connections, unless their palms are greased
I've been on my toes since April to help my maid and her relative procure new gas connections. The manager there refuses to comply as he expects us to cross his palms with silver first. Two months ago, he refused to grant the connection even though we had all our documents right. all formalities were complete. My maid went to her village and by the time she returned, the connection was barred. I have been witness to the ongoing racket due to which a lot of applicants have been denied the new connections. Connections are easily given off to people who stop by in expensive cars whereas the people belonging to the lower classes are being deprived of this necessity. My maids son has been frequenting the office but in vain. He reached office as early 5 am only to ensure that he doesn't have to wait in line for too long. This conniving and depraved manager distracted him and sent him elsewhere to get an acknowledgement during which he distributed the 40 tokens to a queue of 200 odd people by collecting 1000 rupees per person. we refuse to succumb to his demands and pay any money under the table. Please suggest a way through which i can help my maid. Thank you
