My vehicle is getting nearly 15 years old. As per rules I would have to prepare for fitness certificate. Where do I get to read the requirements for documentation? Normally how manydays would it take

Reported on January 15, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #33869

The full details of what is required for obtaining a fitness certificate is given in our Forum section. Please search under Motor vehicles and then look at the FAQs. When we did our Janamahithi report on the transport department, in January, there were 5 cases of corruption which could be traced back to Indiranager RTOs office and not one case where it was reported that citizens did not have to pay a bribe. However, at that time, there were only about 116 cases reported on our website pertaining to corruption in the Bangalore offices of the Transport Department. Now there are 700 cases! Basically, if you are determined not to pay a bribe and everything is in order, nobody can delay matters. Please be confident, do your homework by reading through our FAQs, download the Citizens Charter and go to the office. If there is any demand for a bribe, please complain to the head of the office, the RTO. If you do not get any response at his level, then please complain to the Transport Commissioner's office. The PRO is a polite and responsive official and I am sure she will be able to guide you.
