Reported on September 13, 2014 from Bhavnagar , Gujarat  ι Report #43198

Sirs, In the late evening of 22nd Aug 2014 I submitted a complain/FIR at Bhavnagar A division police station against ICICI Prudential Life Insurance company for declining cancellation of my policy for Rs 30 lakh within free look period on the basis of manipulated courier delivery documents, for lifting money from my bank account and withholding Rs one lakh. The company neither returned my policy sent for cancellation giving me the proof of delivery of policy to me on the date claimed by them nor returned the money despite repeated correspondence with the company giving it proofs of my receipt and return of policy within free look period. To the police I gave copies of my proofs. I was not given any acknowledgment and was told my complaint will be investigated and then FIR will be taken on record. At 9:38pm same night I got call from the police station that Mr Rabbari, the PSO to whom I gave the complaint typed in English, himself will investigate the matter. My residence is in Bhavnagar where the company's office is located and where I applied for policy and my service is at Junagadh. I don't have the phone no of police officer concerned. Please guide me on reasonable time for police to take the complaint on record and should I wait indefinitely for call from the station. Tell me whether based on a doctored or fake courier delivery record if the company transfers money from bank account and holds it, itcan be a cognizable offence fit for FIR? It is a different courier company which delivered policy to me and on a different date from what was claimed by company.I am running 66 and living with 64 yr old wife and can't afford to travel frequently 440km to and fro Bhavnagar. Thanx
