Cops are not all that bad!

Reported on November 28, 2013 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #38140

Ok, after reading the ENTIRE post, there is no mention of which police station jurisdiction he is talking about. Then again, he was taken to a police station... which police station was it? If you are bold enough to post online, at least mention which police station you had been taken to. Why am I being such a "bitch"? Heres why:

Case 1: Long long ago, very long ago, I had to get a passport, for which we need police verification. I had no hassles. They didnt bother me, just did the needful, and I got it. No bribes paid. Not even coffee-tea-bun-bread crap to the police.

Case 2: I was driving in a relatively drunk state towards Hebbal. I was "stopped" by cops opposite the cricket stadium. Actually, it was around 12:30, and I was speeding at 100kmph and they moved away, and I stopped the car myself. The police came to me and asked me if I was drunk. I said I have have had a couple of drinks, but not too much that I cant drive. They asked me for my cell number. I had misplaced the cell at my place, and it had been switched off. To not raise suspicions, I told the cops that I had lost the cell and the wallet that day, and had no money or cell. They called my cell, and it came switched off. After this, I didnt pay a bribe, but rather reasoned with them saying ,if they think I am drunk, to confiscate the car. Their reply was, since I stopped voluntarily , I am capable of driving, and they let me go. This was on a Saturday night. On Monday afternoon, I get a call on my cell from the same cops to verify whether it is me who is answering the call, of if it is with someone else. I never asked them to do that. They did that on their own. Kudos to Cubbon Park Police.

Case 3: We were partying on a friends "under construction" building. The cops came in around 3AM and asked us to leave since we were not legally allowed to be in an under construction building though one of us owned that property. They didn't create a scene, but rather reasoned with us why it is a problem.

I don't think cops will trouble or boss you over, unless you try to demean their authority or them... at least thats what been my experience.

What is your reaction after reading this report?
