Driving Licence - Cleared 4 Wheeler DL test in first attempt

Reported on August 23, 2010 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #33311

I'd like to Salute all the honest officials in the various government departments. One of whom I met personally was - JP Gangadhar IMV - RTO West Bangalore

I was holding a LL for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler for over 3 years with constant renewal. Appearing for the driving test for DL two-wheeler driving I was failed twice for silly reasons by other inspectors in the RTO-West (Rajajinagar) most probably because i did not appear through any agent or driving school. Finally in my third attempt 3 months after the 2nd failure i passed (though there was no change in my performance from earlier attempts).

In 2000 when I was to appear for 4 wheeler DL test (again on my own and not through diriving school) I was a bit jittery and also expected at least 3 attempts to clear the test. The inspector, Mr. Gangadhar, put me at ease and I drove and maneuvered as asked to do. I was delighted to find later that I'd passed the test.
Now 10 Years later I still hold the DL card with his name printed on the back. I've never had a any major challans (except for couple of traffic signal jumps) from cops and have always been a responsible driver (both with 2 and 4 wheeler). I do hope that more such officers populate the various govt. departments who take pride in their work and uphold the integrity demanded of the position they're in.
