Hidden Law

Reported on October 29, 2010 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #33268

I had to go left at Chembur Naka coming from Mahul Road. Waited for some time at the signal & did not notice any signal to use the left turn. When traffic started moving towards Ghatkopar & Trombay, I thought it was also my turn. No sooner than I started moving I saw a traffic constable moving from front of a parked truck waiving me to come forward & stop.

I tried to convince him that I was not at fault & he should not have been hiding & he could have stopped me from moving forward (obviously signal was not on for the left turn & thus dangerous to move forward). All he had to ask is were I was from & say sorry. He then then wrote me a ticket asking me to go to pay the fine & collect my licence the following day. Probably if I had told him a different address he ********** have tried to get his pocket money.

********** nagar police station being close by, I immediately paid the fine of Rs100.00 & collected my licence from the same traffic constable.

How many people must have fallen prey at this junction. How many peeople must have wasted a day to go back the next day to collect their licence.

I'm sure a hidden video camera could reveal a plenty.
