No bribe or harassment in Bangalore North RTO for Two wheeler re-registration
When I returned back from Kerala after 6 months I came along with a 5 month old Bullet bike having Kerala registration. I had to take the services of an agent in Kerala for the NOC since I was not a local and had difficulties in speaking Malayalam, I thought it would be the same case in Bangalore North RTO to re-register my bike here. After a month, I finally mustered courage to re-register my bike in Bangalore North RTO, Yeshwantpur. I went to the Non-Transport Vehicle Registration counter and asked for the forms to be filled up, the government official told me clearly that I needed 33, 14, 27 and KMV 27 forms. I filled them up and went to him, he told me the amount to be paid as the road tax and asked me to get the DD and also get the data entry done. I got the DD and after getting the data entry,I proceeded to pay the tax and attached all the receipts in the file. He then asked me to get the vehicle inspected. When I went to the Inspector, he asked me to go to a particular place and he would come, and when I went there, he was already present inspecting vehicles. He finished his work within 5 minutes and signed the forms. I returned back and then submitted the forms to a lady, seeing the Kerala registration, she asked me if I could speak Kannada, when I said yes, she gave me a receipt and asked me to check the status of application after 15 days. This was all done within a span of 4 hours including me getting the DD. I am very happy that they all interacted without indicating they needed to be bribed to get the work done. Some of them also started speaking to me in English when they got to know that I was a Software programmer. All in all, it was good experience considering it the same RTO where I had to bribe some people previously ( around 5 years back ). I am happy that I did not have to pay a single rupee as a bribe and I congratulate Bangalore RTO North for making that happen!
