Patience & wit can get you police clearance & passport
My passport renewal took over 4 months, majority of this time was taken up for Police clearance. I had to make multiple trips to the local police station, each time there was a request to proviide additional documents. No one at the police station explicitly asked for bribes. However everyone from my friends to my driver advised me to payup, they also seem to have definite idea about the amount I would need to pay. I chose to ignore their advise and submit the documents. Finally patience bore fruit, got my passport this week.
