I needed to get my passport under tatkal scheme a few years ago along with a PCC, after hearing the stories from my friends regardig the standard bribes that needed to be paid for this, I was mentally prepared to hand over the bribes :) but for me the whole process was a wonderful surprise. The office of SP Palakkad was extremely efficient and completed the whole process ahead of time while actively refusing to take any bribe whatsoever.
To quote one of the officers when he refused a bribe "It makes us happy to know that we have helped a person to live a better life"
