Use the online appointment service!
I used the new online appointment and advance payment service. Not only was I not asked for a bribe at all, but I did not have to even stand in line, and was ushered to the computerized test straight away (though of course after spending 30 minutes trying to figure out where I was supposed to go in the maze that is the Sheikh Sarai RTO). 2 minutes later (after scoring a perfect score on the test - I had studied) I was out of there. I had to come back later in the evening to collect it, and while then I had to stand in a line, it took only 10-15 minutes. Now hoping that I can expect the same service when I get the full driver's license.
