My name Is Sikkanthar Batcha, working in Trivandrum. My second baby born 4months ago in my wife native Senkottai. We had applied for Birth Certificate and got 2 week back. While issuing they demanded INR1000/- from my wife as a service charge otherwise I have to come and sign the acknowledgment of receipt. She paid as there is no other go, as otherwise they denied to handover certificate. During my week end visit last week noticed error in initial and street name. Again my wife approached municipal office Senkottai for correction.She made about 5 visits to municipal office in the morning and evening this week. Every time they asked one another other proofs and finally demanded Rs100 per letter, Hence 5 letter correction INR500/- and Rs40 per copy * 3 = Rs120 so put together INR620. As she had only Rs500 at that time, they collected Rs500 and demanded to 120 layer while collecting the certificate.She is mentally disturbed and felt very bad and cried at me about immortal acts of govt officer
