I wanted to apply for Aadhaar card and I searched for some centres in my locality. The Aadhaar card site provided me with many centres nearby and I ended up going to Pimple Gurav centre in Pune. When I entered (with all my documents as per the form) and enquired about Aadhaar card, she said it will take Rs.100 for processing. When I responded saying that Aadhaar card is free of cost, she told in a very curt tone that they don't do it for free.
Disappointed and unwilling to pay Rs.100 for the process which the government does free of cost, I started searching some other Seva Kendras hoping that they will do it without any payment. I literally called up 3-4 centres in Khadki, Nigdi, and Aundh Gaon. All of them gave me the same reply that the "FEES" for Aadhaar card is Rs.100. When enquired that the govt. has denied such charges, they refused to speak on that matter. Frustrated, I finally went to the Aadhaar card centre, Maha E-Seva Kendra Aundh Gaon, operated by NPS Technologies Pvt. Ltd. at 12:30 on 21st September 2016 and completed the process. The enrolment operator, Nikam Shravani Dasharth then asked me to pay Rs.100 for the process and I unwillingly did pay as I wanted this process to be over and get my Aadhaar card. I just hope it comes in time, but overall the experience was preposterous.
