The Govt of Karnataka has started a great initiative by making available rooms in Tirumala in their newly extended guest house there, which can be booked from Bangalore either online/thru their Bangalore one centres.

But on reaching the place, if you dont pay the chap at the desk you are bound to be allocated a room that you would rather not step into!

The going rate is Rs 100-150/room over and above the rent, especially if you covet a good A/C room, and believe me once you pay you do get good rooms.

But just pay Rs 100 to the guy at the desk and pay the rest in small increments to the cleaning staff.
