As a NRI, when we go with lots to luggage even though within the rules, we are scared. They open luggage when you don't bribe them and if you are with kids, it is the nervousness of something falling out or forgetting.
But on the other hand I would also say that Ahmedabad airport is way better than other airports I have been. People don't scare you. And I have met people there who refused to take any tips, which we are used to in India.
