It was mid night and i was moving permanantly to India. So had to take my 40 inch LED TV which was 1.5 yr old.
When reached Mumbai Airport, i was stopped by 4 police personnels and was interogated as if i had smuggled drugs/gold Or some billion dollars.
Finally after 30 mins of enqiry i was asked to pay 40k custom duty, which should ideally be 3-4k max as i was permanatly moving to INdia and also the TV was more than a yr old. But offier is god there and that too at mid night how much can u argue ....
Finally i had to settle the matter by paying 5000INR and 260$.
I paid the amount which should have ideally gone to GOI. Many many of my friends have faced same problem.
