I was transporting my bicycle to Howrah on a direct train from Yeswantpur to Howrah. Given that the size of the package was large i was asked to book it as a parcel in the same train i was taking. Despite paying the parcel fees they wanted Rs.200/= extra else the package will be sent the following day. I had no choice but to pay as i could not take the risk of not having the bicycle with me -- our plan was to cycle along the east coast from kolkata to chennai and then to bangalore. This appeared to be standard practice at the parcel booking office
