First of all I would like to clarify that the city and date are not actual. Since the city in discussion (Rampur) is not in the list and date is of 1993 which is not listed here. My father worked in Municipality for 35 years. He served many places such as Bareilly, Pilibhit, Meerut and Rampur (Home Town) from where hestarted his service. When he expired, I went to Rampur Municipality to take his death certificate. I was accompanied by one of my relatives, who was also working there although most of the paople knew me there. The certificate issuing clerk started passing time and did not respond. Finally my relative tole me to give him ten rupees (other wise he will do like this only) which he took immediately and issued the certificate immediately.
THE QUESTION HERE IS NOT THE AMOUNT OR THE BRIBE (WHICH MOST OF THE PEOPLE PAY TO GET THEIR WORK DONE), BUT THE IRONY THAT I HAD TOGET THE DEATH CERTIFICATE OF A PERSON FROM THE SAME DEPARTMENT WHERE HE SERVED (FOR FULL 35 YEARS) WITH UTMOST HONESTY, SINCERITY AND DEVOTION.
