Bribe for not getting NOC from home town
- Police
- NOC for Transfer of Vehicle Registration
- Paid INR 100
NOC rule in our motor vehicle act states no need of NOC for a period of 1 year. If we can prove the bike was brought recently from home town.
the fact is we are not sure how to apply this rule in front of police. i tried producing the print out of the rule from net. Still the police was not bothered about the rule. they just asked for NOC in a harsher way (that 1st asked b4 i produced the printout). so had to just bribe him and get out of the mess.
the sad part is i dont know how the authority of the police. i know h can check the documents. but i am not sure
1. if police can confescate the bike.
2. the actual process in which i can proceed for any issue related to documents
I even heard from one of the friends that actual rule is that no way they can take a vehicle from owner. but they can ask the owner to produce the document at the police station.
facts of these things will help me next time.
