I went to the sub registrar office in BTM Layout to get a marriage certificate. As my spouse had only Adhar card as proof, after making us run from pillar to post they let us know that Adhar card cannot be accepted as proof and they can do it if we could pay 1000INR. It was evident that all couples who were there for marriage certificate were asked to pay the same. This apart there was huge bribes being paid for land registration,etc. All the people at the office were hand in glove and the bribe money was shared between all.
