Bribe paid for Property Tax transfer

I had bought a house on June 2008. the property tax was still in the name of the previous owner and hence I had applied for transferring it in my name. The clerk at Madambakkam Panchayat office asked for Rs.500 to get it done in 3 days else he said it would take more time. I couldnt get leaves at office to show the surveyor Panchayat officials my house during week days and hence I paid the amount. I have not yet got my property tax receipt though
