I bought a BDA site and have applied for the transfer of Khata from the previous owner to me. I have applied for it in the BDA office in BSK II stage. The clerk said, it will take atleast 1 month as it has to go to head office and come back. I went after 1 month, the clerk said, my file has been sent to head office but has not come back and asked me to go to head office and get it moved. I have waited for another 1 month and again visited BSK office. He said it has still not come back and said, "enadru nodikolli". I understood and paid him Rs 500. He asked me come back after 2 weeks. Again I went after 2 weeks. He said, there is a problem in transferring khata as you have bank loan and it has to go to lot of tablles and take still lot of time. He said, give me Rs. 2000 I will get it done in 1 week. I was really tired by this time fed up of visiting BDA office again and again. I paid him Rs. 2000 and my khata transfer was done in 4 days. Since I did not pay the bribe initially it took almost 4 months. Otherwise it would have been done in 4 days.
