Bribe for Passport Police Verification

I paid a Bribe of Rs.100 for Police verification for Passport Re-issue. I was told by my family and friends that I will be asked to pay Bribe for Police verification. I did not want to pay Bribe. Police man came to our House for address verification. He asked us to come to Police station next day to sign the documents. He did not ask for Bribe inside the Police Station. When we came out of the station, he followed us and asked for CHAI-PANI. My Dad asked me to give in and pay Bribe and not to argue if I want to get my passport hassle free. I had to give in.
