I am sure almost every single person, at least those I know of, have endured this trauma. When the passport arrives in the hands of the police guys, they either come to your house or make you come to the Police Station. Pretty shamelessly, this one officer tells me that if I want it to get done immediately, I pay Rs. 1000 or if I pay Rs. 500 it would take 2 weeks, and if I do not pay at all, then he would not be able to tell me how long it would take
