I applied for my kid's passport on 20/07/2010 at RPO , Pune Located in Bhamburde.I had all the necessary docu*******nts in order.The Scrutiny officer verified all the docu*******nts along with the application and asked us to pay the fee.In return we got a receipt.After couple of days when we checked the status of our application on http://passportstatus.nic.in - it was showing as "Passport is expected to be dispatched by 10/08/2010 provided all the docu*******nts are in order".Since the scrutiny officer had verified all the docu*******nts along with our original passports we were under the assumption that our application is being progressed smoothly.10/08 ca******* and went by - The status was still status quo.We waited patiently for 2 more weeks and finally approached window no.9 at RPO , Pune.The Person at counter *******ntioned that your kid's application is on hold as both parents should have na******* of each other's spouse in their passport.We pointed out that as per law - it is ok even if one of the parent has his spouse's na******* included in the passport.In this case My wife's na******* was included in my passport.Still he did not budge.We ca******* back ho******* in a nervous state of mind.Over the evening my friend called ******* - I narrated this incident to him - he gave ******* number of an agent.When I spoke to that agent he *******ntioned that it'll take 2000 Rs. to get the job done and your kids passport will be in your hands within 4 working days.I *******ntioned to him the sa******* reason which the officer at the enquiry window gave.He said he'll take care.Exactly at the end of 4th day from the day - I paid 2000 Rs. to the agent ; my kid's passport was in my hand.He *******ntioned the seggregation as follows : 1. Passport Officer 750/- 2. Indexing and forwarding clerk - 250 /- 3. Despatch section clerk - 250 /- 4. Printing Clerk - 250/- 5. His agent fee : 500/- I will leave it up to you all to decide the black inco******* this guys make at passport office just for doing their regular duties for which they are get paid substantially.
