I had to pay a total of 4000 rupees for registration of my marriage here in Kanpur. Both and my wife approached a lawyer's aide close to the marriage registration bureau. We are asked to shell the money to the aide and then handled all the process such as the affidavit, witnesses, signatures, and even took us to the court for the registration of the marriage there even though we had married two days before accoridng to religious customs. This was done all in one day on the 24th of November.
