For getting passport for my 10 year old daughter, I applied for online interview at Passport Seva Kendra. There it gave a date for interview after one month. Later while travelling in EMU, a bill stuck on the walls of the train said that for instant passport contact the mobile number. When I called him, he arranger for interview on next day by taking Rs.500- from me. After two weeks I got a call from the local Police Station directing me to meet the police official concerned next day at a public place near a temple for police verification. At the appointed time I met the police official and after completing the formalities, the police man demanded Rs.500-, which I had to pay. After another two weeks the local postman called me to meet him to take delivery of the passport. When I met him , the postman asked for Rs.200/- for delivering the passport. When I protested, postman said, let the child come to post office or remain at home to take delivery of passport. I parted with another Rs.200/- to the postman and took delivery of the passport.
I paid Rs.1500- as fees to Govt. But greasing the palm alone has cost Rs.1200/- to me. Corruption till the grass root. God only has to save INDIA.
