Hi,
Its 1000 times true. No one can escape from giving bribe to govt officers. Even we have vigilance department no one couldn't stop or ignore to pay. I had to pay money to govt officers thru 3rd party. I paid
1. During my land registration
2. To get patta (not received so far)
3. Getting new TNEB connection as well as planting posts. If you don't pay they will make you to visit every day to their office
4. For my passport
5. Marriage registration
For registration, you have to go through a broker otherwise they won't accept your form. I had paid bribe after wasting one at Karaikudi, Sivaganaga dist, Tamilnadu. And end of they day they told me to go Devakottai as my village is not comes under their administration. As i'm working in IT firm I couldn't take leave more than 2 days. So, no other options. For passport inquiry, I went to police station located at Kallal, karaikudi tk. Particular police men asked all details. When I'm about to leave he asked me to pay Rs.300 to clear my inquiry.
