Charge for passport verification

I do not know the name and designation of the officer. But I was asked to report at Vastrapur police station with stated documents to complete passport verification process. There was a seperate room for the same.

I met the concerned officer on 14th Septement 2016 around 10 am.

After I gave all required information and documents, I confirmed if everything is OK. He confirmed that all formalities are over. When I thanked and was about to leave he said you have to pay Rs.200/-.

I paid him and expected him to give a receipt and waited. He kept the money in the draw and looked at me and said "that's it".

I wasn't sure whether I should demand a receipt or should I leave...then decided to leave.
