Since i was 14 years old , i was dreaming to construct my house as the house me and my family living was broken, rain and severage water used to come in, hub for rats and other animals. I studied in govt school, exams given waking up in night while i was working at small scale industry to earn at day time, walked miles to get a good job and worked day-night to earn so that i can fulfill my dream. Time spent to earn some amount with which i can atliest reconstruct my house, now finally year 2011 turned , i am 23 years old and ready to fulfill my dream. I have earned some money and taken loan to build half house and living in other half by the time. However delhi is not same as it was earlier, Laws to construct home turned against people like me. I went to mcd every weekend till 2 months to reconstruct house, finally got permission and started constructions. After a week when roof was getting ready a constable came and said its not allowed and we need to take permission from Sub- Divisional Megistrate (SDM) else he will beat all workers and occupy the material, my family did not sleep all night because of this threat. We cannot go to SDM since construction has already started, we did not know SDM is also necessary in case of house reconstruction. My family is not well known or connected to high officials so a relative and neighbour went to negotiate and the officer demanded 15000 rs to let this happen else our work would stay pending till months. We had no choice, cos we are living in that half constucted house. I cannot let my family live without roof for months, I have never given bribe to anyone in my life but circumstances and officials in delhi cannot leave me doing same for long.
