DL registered motorcycle in Pune

Reported on September 18, 2015 from Pune , Maharashtra  ι Report #65293

Recently, I have my DL registered motorcycle (Pulsar 150) in Pune.

Its an incident of Sept 13, 2015 at 7:30PM.

I was heading towards Magarpatta city from AUNDH, and was stopped by Traffic Police near BANER Road. Just after crossing SAVITRIBAI PHULE PUNE UNIVERSITY, there is a red light, I was stopped there.

I provided all the documents:
1) License and RC
2) Insurance copy (from DELHI which is Valid till Oct 2015)
3) PUC (from DELHI valid from Aug 30 - Nov 29, 2015)

They ask me for the NOC. I told them, NOC is needed only if I want to change my REGISTRATION into MH number.
Then they ask me for the road tax. I said- "Its only 2 weeks that I have my bike in Pune."

But they said, "You need to pay tax as soon as entered into state, even if you are here for 2-3 weeks, it is called temporary tax". One of those three officers started searching into his cellphone and then showed me some kind of receipt which, he said, was provided to KA registered motorcycle and he paid tax for short duration.

After wasting 30-45 min, they were indirectly asking me to bribe, "Tum batao kya karna hai?? Seize hogi tumhari bike ab. Kal RTO office se le lena. Kal nahi mili to case chalega 3-4month baad milegi bike."

After listening all this, I agreed for the seize, and ask for the chalan/receipt on which the proper reason and all the things they just said should be clearly mentioned.

Then after 10-15min more, they let me go after taking Rs. 150.

Same incident of bribe was shared by my colleagues, where they gave 500 and even upto 800 to traffic police, near Sancheti Hospital, Shivaji Nagar.

I even send the following mail to MH12@mahatranscom.in :

Mail starting.
On the following pune RTO website: http://www.rtopune.info/faqs.htm
I only got this information

23) Can a vehicle registered in one state can be used in another state?

A vehicle registered in one state can be used in other state with the same registration number for temporary purpose. The registration number is valid throughout the India, but if vehicle is migrated to some other state for long use then the fresh registration number from the state the vehicle is migrated to needs to taken and taxes to be paid. Taxes paid at time of registration are motor vehicle taxes for that particular state not for India. For more details see NOC & transfer.

There was no duration mentioned, for which, one can use the vehicle (2-wheeler or 4- wheeler), without paying any taxes.

As I am shifting temporary for 6 months, I have few queries:
1) Do I need to pay Road Tax, for these 6months.

2) What is the duration, for which I can drive other state motorcycle without paying any taxes?

3) Where can I get the complete information regarding this.
Mail ends.

But I didnt get any reply.

Looking for some help/information here.
