Dear Dr JJ,
The strict policies you have in place to prevent building violations are great - the officers and ministers don't take bribe to permit a violation of building codes. Great job at that. The sad part of your policies is that the officers and ministers have begun to take huge bribes to approve plans and construction for even buildings that do not violate any codes.
I tried to get a CMDA approval for a building I was planning to build about 10000 sq ft.
I had to pay the following
*2 lakhs to CMDA
*2 lakhs to Corporation
*5 lakhs to the Minister for Housing and Urban Development as of Jun 2013
The calculation is based on 10,000 sqft multiplied by INR 50 per sq feet
* In addition to the above I needed to pay 10% of the bribe to the ministers PA
If I did not pay the above - I would never get my plan approved...and need to wait on it for life .
God save this country and the common people from these thugs. Wonder what they are going to carry to their graves.... I guess its going to be the common man's curse.
