Enrollment "Fee" for Aadhar Card??
My wife was asked to pay Rs.40 as "enrollment and operator fees" when she went to register for our daughter's Aadhar card today at a centre in Shantinagar, Thane . When I came to know of this and asked the concerned persons, they told me that it is to pay for the electirc bill and printouts + Rs. 10 for the form. When I told them that we had not come across any such demand for our own Aadhar cards, he told me that every person who came there was being clearly told that. I did not say much because there were a couple of strongmen around him, but I find this clearly a violation of the rules, and wish to report it.
