Forced to pay the bribe for confirmed berth on train
Hi,
I was returning from Tirupati with group of 16 people and our A/C berth tickets were not confirmed- state was waiting. When checked online, it showed no vacancy, checked with local authorities at stations but did not get any help. Spoke to TTE of the train and he assured that he would help and asked to get into one A/C coach. After 1 hr, he came in and called me at seperate place from my group and asked me Rs.15000 for getting our tickets confirmed. I was shocked and I told him that we will get down on next station from A/C coach and will get into 2nd SLP coach and ready to pay ticket fare. But he forced to pay the bribe as he said, another TTE will charge us with penalty for getting into A/C coach without RAC or confirmed ticket. He also threatened to take us judge and file case for this! We were left with no other option to avoid unnecessary problem being with family and senior citizens.
