Forceful collection of bribe money by Sub registrar office At Sarjapur
- Stamps and Registration
- Encumbrance Certificate
- Paid INR 800
Hi,
Recently I got my housing loan transferred from LIC to SBI. Which is when the need to have the MOD registered and one day EC arised. I went to the local Sarjapura Sub Registrar office and was shocked to see that there was no counter where any body can pay the actual fees for any particular transaction and get a valid receipt for the same. Staff were pathetic in their approach and the Sub registrar himself was missing in office as late as 12:00 PM !
When I approached one lady seated in the office about my request for getting the MOD registered and the same being reflected in EC, she asked me for Rs 1000/- apart from the usual demad draft that I had got along with myself favoring Sub registrar Basavangudi, Bangalore. When I asked for the receipt she just told me it will be provided later. No information about the SLA of any service mentioned in the office. neither the price of any particular service. I paid the amount to the lady and handed over my documents.
I was told to come back later in the evening. When I went in there to collect my documents, my job was done, but then the receipt I got was for RS 180 (for scanning of the documents) and RS 35/- (for the Encumbrance certificate). Imagine ! for a job of Rs 215/- I was told to pay up Rs 1000/- rest of the entire money was for bribing and oiling the greedy hands of the officials.
When I shouted at them they said it is the "Process" and we all have to pay up.
Can anything be done for such rotten place and souls ??
