The officer was sending me notices to pay 1.2 Lakh taxes though my auditors were convinced that it is not valid. Due to this the refund of Eight Lakhs was held back. After almost two years my auditor was forced to go personally and talk to the officer. He did not discuss the case but asked for a 10% cut in the refund amount ! Had to shell down 80K to get my refund. The worst kind of worms live there harassing honest tax payers. As a NRI I did not have the time and also the fear of harassment kept me from taking action. I am ashamed to have taken this easy way out
