Hi All,
Was just browsing the Newspaper & came to know about this site. I want to share my ordeal at Ghaziabad Passport Office.I was deputed in Mumbai & my company was in Noida. I had applied for a new passport in Ghaziabad District in June 2008. After 20-25 days I was called to the Police Station & for clearing my name from the Police Report the officer charged me 800 Rupees by saying that "You are making passport it means you are going abroad, Once you go then you will earn a lot of money but we will be here only". Then after that another police inquiry officer came to my home & took 1200 Rupees by citing the same reason. I thought that in 2 or 3 months my passport will come.
I used to come to my home every 3 months for 1 week & out of that 1 week i used to be at passport office for 2 to 3 days just to inquire when will be my passport delivered but only got the answer as "Police Report no reached".
I got 1 overseas opportunity in March 2009 & I said to them that in 1 month my passport will be with me. Till May the passport didn't come i was totally fed up then I called my relative who is working in Central Government & they talked to the DPO (Deputy Passport Officer). DPO called me & said that in 3 days the passport will be delivered & to my surprise in 2 days I was having my Passport. My Passport was delivered in July 2009.
What I am not able to understand is that if my documents were complete then why the Passport department took so much time to deliver the passport.
