- Police Verification for Passport
- Paid INR 200
Passport verification means when you apply for a passport, the passport office in your district want to verify if you have any criminal convictions/records against you. So your file is sent to your local police station and you are personally called to chec if the applicant is genuine person as in the papers.
When I had been for this process at my local police station, the offices checked my papers, verified that I'm the person, had no criminal record so what he had to do is just pass the papers back to passport office by signing and stamping them. After all verification this officer couldn't find the rubber stamp anywhere and took almost 15 minutes. Later he asked me that I must get another set of my papers attested; which obviously wasn't required. Though I took it on given appointment next day. The this police again didn't get his files or setting he was murmuring. A person behind me in the que advised mecto pay 'FEES' to that corupt police. Then I offered 100 rs. He still didn't find the required stuff, so I gave another 100. Finally he asked me to sign some papers and said it's done I may leave.
I wasted a day at work just because he wanted money and pretended that misplace of rubber stamp and things. This happens per person going and the make huge money from this.
