I have Paid Rs.800 for getting my Father Death Certificate.

Dear Sir/Madam,
It was one of the worst humiliating moment in my life. I was forced to give bribe for getting death certificate of my father.
It was 2001 Dec, My father worked as a gangman with southern railway in my hometown morappur. He expired on nov 8th 2001,he was a pensioner at his time of death, for claiming the pension for my mother(after death of husband, wife can claim pension, previledge given by govt), i have to produce the death certificate of my father to the railway dept and local bank and also to claim some of his savings and deposit. When i approched VAO, RI of my locality, he asked me 1000 Rs, we were in trauma of our father sudden demise. but the revenue inspector of our locality was so rude, he was asking atleast give 800 otherwise it will be difficult. he also said that he is not asking for him, also for thasildar, he said if thasildar comes for inspection he has to spend money to take care of his needs. he was convincing me in a manner that he is right. when we were reluctant, he said its difficult to get it. he said he can reduce from 1000 to 800rs since you were already lost your father (acted as a generous one).Also, just like that he asked i came to know that your father has two wives is it so...just i got busrt, i asked lets go to my home and ask everyone arround...(FYI my home was just 50mts away from his office, village police-thotti in tamil knows abt us very well...we were living for last 25yrs over there), then he said ok ok...just somebusy told me...he just keep on asking till he get 800Rs. After that he was smilling (i still remember that 'pros' smile) at me and said it will be done.
it still hurting me...i paid bribe, till now my moral sucks me. even now, whenever i remember that incident dont feel comfortable.something has to be done to change this officials mentality.
But now i feel confident to face these kind of people.
