What I call the nadir of my life: I paid a bribe to embalm my friends dead body. This happened in pune. My friend died in an accident near Pune and his body had to be flown to Delhi. For that I needed an embalming certificate to give to the airline. As deaths go, they usually don't happen in office hours. So I had to bribe the hospital in the wee hours of that terrible morning to get a professional to come to the hospital and perform the embalming. And furthermore, had to pay the clerk to get a certificate on time for the flight so that some devastated parents could see their son, one last time.
