Hi,
It was 10-July-2013, When I visited Chennai Government Hospital (Rajiv Gandhi Hospital) to get medical certificate and I (directly/Indirectly) was forced pay EXTRA FEES to get RMO's (Residential Medical Officer) seal on my health Certificate.
Since I had to submit this certificate for a Bank job as a must document. I had no other option. I told his it is not good to take extra fees, but he said, if you want then give extra fees otherwise forget certificate and snatched back certificate from my hand.
I could see this officer was using his post as money minting business and was taking randomly 200-500 rupees from every student or person was in need of such certificate.
it was height of shamelessness and selfishness when he suggested me to go for medical checkup to some private hospital and get report signed from him. His two fellow (Office Boys or whatever) were working him as agent and suggesting the visiting persons, OTHER-WAYS to get certificate in quick way.
This is very sad to see such educated doctors on reputed public job are doing such cheap acts. This day I realized that it is not good education which can make anyone good human but it is a Morality. Alas ! Seems we, most of the Indians, almost killed it just for personal benefits.
