Immigration Official Refuses to Issue Shore Leave Passes even to Indian Seamen in Kandla Port

I ,arrived kandla port by ship on 15 oct 2012. after a long time we come to india. most of us indians. our last port mumbai. many of my frends signe of there and new crew and captain come on board. since we stay in mumbai port for only about 6 hours in the night no shore leave. we sailed to kandla to discharge more chemicals cargo. there we three sign off. my friends on board (19 indian, 1 ukranian, 1 filipino, 2 americans, 1 french and 1 german) waiting for shore pass for them to go out and do some small shopping for daily needs. for two days my friends wait but the immigration not issuing shore leave pass. when agent ask them, they told that they were not given their gift (about 10 cartons of marlboro cigarettes or its cash in dollars worth about 260dollars) so they don't have time to give shore pass. my signoff captain, a filipino, was laughing at this saying that see what is happening in your *****************'s land. i was ashamed of it becous of thiese greedy immigration spoiling our countries name. later i was told that the ship's crew stayed there for two days and sailed without getting shore leave. this shows that if the immigration gets bribe, they will let anybody in into the country irrespective of terrorist or not. god bless and save this country and its good people.
