It was not me who paid the bribe it was one of my relative

Reported on July 19, 2014 from Thane , Maharashtra  ι Report #42164

The incident took place at Nallasopara in Mumbai Suburbs, Maharashtra. When she went to the police station of Nallasopara for verification the police was interrogating her on the basis of her residencial information, she produced her ration card which is a prime evidence which shows that how many years a person stayed at that region, but the officer in charge was questioning her very wildly such as questioning a criminal and the officer who assisted him in the interrogation was signalling her to pay a bribe of Rs.1000 or they would not send the file for further procedure. In this police station earlier many such incidents took place in a similar manner, where the officers themselves threaten the people of tearing down the original documents if they did not pay any bribe. Here in democracy the police system should empower protection and provide security whereas they approach the people with a terror form in greed of making money. I want this information to be shown everywhere after an investigation, so that the strength of democracy can be shown to the people of India.
