My mother receives pension every month,from education dept since 2001 when my father passed away.that was the time when my mother didnt have a job. later in 2004-05 when she got a govt job she informed the then officer in charge in written that she has got a job now and the dearness allowance paid in her pension should be discontinued.As the law doesnt permit to be awraded DA twice. Though even then people in the office insisted that my mother should not be doing this(officially informing about her new job), and should continue to accept DA in both salary and pension and pay some bribe to keeep it a secret. but my mother didnt accept and gave the application for the same. since then the DA wasnt paid in her pensions.
Later in year 2008 - 09 she noticed an increase in the pensions received,when enquired but she was told that it was due to the wage revisions. After some 10 months or year dept. blocked the pension account for recovery of the extra paid amount in pension.My mother has nothing to do with the increase,as she had already submitted the application for not paying DA through Pensions. Then the recovery was started to cover the extra paid amount through subsequent pension.Then too the officers in treasury dept asked for some money if my mother didnt want the pension to be recoverd. The drama continued as they mis - calculate and deduct lot more amount from the actual. So now the dept had to pay us back some amount. To release that fund they again asked for some "Ghoos" and this time being fed up of all this in past 4 years and end the mental physical trauma my mothet succumbs to the system and pays 5000 bribe for what should never have happened. During the course of all this, when my mother had denied to pay any bribe ,my mother was also threatened to face strict action for accepting DA in her pensions along with salary. SO alll this trouble and trauma for jus being honest.. now who will try to be honest and not pay bribe as he may face such results..
